More Than Just Karate and Kickboxing...


MMA STRIKING PROGRAM
This program includes all aspects of MMA standup. You will learn striking techniques using your hands, feet, elbows, knees and shins, as well as footwork and defense. Combined with the Athletic Conditioning and Power Strike classes, this program provides everything you need to take you to the next level. Only available at the Bank St. location.

POWERSTRIKE
Introducing "Power Strike"! This ultimate fitness class, designed by Master Peter Douvris, combines weight training with a heavy bag boxing workout! This class is only being offered at the Bank St. location. Caution: Not your average fitness class!

Athletic Conditioning
The Athletic Conditioning program offers specialized strength and conditioning classes to amateur and professional athletes. This program assists athletes in increasing their flexibility, speed, endurance, power and reaction time in their chosen sport. The program includes upper, lower and core strength training, focused flexibility, balance and coordination exercises, weight training, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning.

Fitness Kickbox Bootcamp
The Fitness Kickboxing program is designed for individuals 14 and over. This program includes three key classes; Kickboxing, Cardio Bag, and Body Shape. Each class strives for results in endurance, muscle tone, power and strength, reaction time, coordination and balance. The classes are done to music, and are taught by martial arts instructors. The Kickboxing class involves executing various kick and punch combinations, footwork, stretching exercises and calisthenics. The class routines are regularly varied, and no equipment, uniform or previous experience is necessary.

Cardio Punching Bag class uses heavy punching bags. This class teaches individuals proper boxing techniques using the jab, cross, hook and upper-cut punches through a variety of combinations. It also includes footwork, calisthenics and stretching exercises. Previous boxing experience is not required; however, boxing gloves and hand wraps are needed.

Body Shape class provides individuals with a full body workout. It focuses on isolating muscle groups and body sculpting through specialized weight training, calisthenics and stretching exercises.

Karate Tykes
The Karate Tykes program is designed for children 4 to 6 years of age. This program focuses on developing self-control, respect for others, and a positive attitude, while teaching the basic techniques of the martial arts. Self-defense training is an important part of this class with a focus on general child safety skills.

Karate Youth
Beginner Program for children ages 7-12. This program is geared toward providing a fun martial arts curriculum for beginners, while instilling the positive benefits of the martial arts traditions: respect for others, self-confidence, perseverance, honesty, integrity, and self-control. As well, it helps children increase their fitness level, balance and co-ordination, concentration, and self-discipline. This program emphasizes goal setting and positive reinforcement of personal success, while teaching children how to stay safe and avoid dangerous situations. Tons of fun!

Beginner Program for teens ages 13-17. This program is designed to be a complete approach to training in the martial arts. The main focus of the training in this class is on the exciting kicking and punching skills, as well as self-defense techniques, and the introduction to sparring. Teens that enter this class learn focus and respect while building self-confidence and developing a positive mental attitude. It is a great self-esteem builder, as well!

Adult Karate
The Adult Karate program is designed for individuals 14 years and over. This program helps increase fitness levels, improves balance and coordination, and builds focus, self-discipline and confidence. The program includes how to execute stances, punches, blocks and kicking techniques. Individuals also learn how to perform kata (pre-arranged forms of set movements and techniques), how to break fall and sparring techniques which combine modern kicking/sparring techniques with the traditional Chito Ryu systems and emphasizes self-defense movements. And, all Adult Karate programs include Fitness Kickbox as part of the training regimen!

We also offer a Beginner Program for adults. Our program for adults teaches the basic punching, kicking and self-defense techniques of the martial arts. This program is geared toward the beginning student that desires to get in shape, reduce stress, and learn basic and advanced self-defense skills. This is a fun class that is an excellent introduction to martial arts training.
