WKC-Certified Programs
International standards for curriculum, instructor qualifications, and student assessments. Legitimate, safe, globally recognized.
What started with two brothers and a single dojo is now the largest martial arts organization in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. 10 locations, 100+ certified black belt instructors, and a 40-year reputation built on discipline and results.

In 1984, karate champions Master Sensei John Douvris and Master Sensei Peter Douvris opened their first dojo on Bank Street with a mission to bring professional, structured martial arts training to Ottawa. Over four decades, that single dojo grew into 10 locations spanning the region.
At Douvris, martial arts training is a vehicle for personal development. The discipline, focus, and resilience built on the mat carry directly into everyday life. Our Striving for Excellence curriculum teaches values alongside technical skills.

A direct pathway from beginner training to national-level competition. Team Douvris athletes have represented Canada internationally.
Striving for Excellence isn't an add-on. Monthly themes, workbooks, and instructor mentorship make character development central to every class.
